Stephen F. Austin State University offers an online program to complete a bachelor’s degree and become certified to teach pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. The program is designed for paraprofessionals in the Texas public school system and other qualifying students.
After completing an AAT degree at Navarro College, qualifying students can transfer to SFASU and complete the bachelor’s degree in four semesters while continuing to work and live in the town of their choice.
One two-day campus visit is required each semester. There is funding available to cover tuition and some fees for paraprofessionals enrolling in college to become certified teachers.
Contact your school district to determine your eligibility. For more information about SFASU’s EC-4 online program, please contact Susan Barber at (936) 468-2904.
